Hotel photography
Hotel and Resort Photographer
Professional photographs for hotel websites, Booking, social media and other marketing channels. A premium, realistic visual style that helps present a hotel attractively and credibly.
Why photographs matter
Hotel photography is not only documentation of a space. Guests build their first impression of the stay, atmosphere, services and trustworthiness of the hotel from the photographs. A good series shows the hotel attractively, but realistically.
Expedia Group states that poor-quality photos are the most common reason travellers remove an accommodation from consideration.
What I photograph
I photograph the spaces and details that together shape a future guest’s expectations. It is not only about architecture. The atmosphere of the stay, light, brand character and the service the guest will experience on site are all important.
The service is suitable for hotels, boutique hotels, resorts, wellness and spa, apartment projects and other accommodation concepts in the hospitality segment.
Precise production and post-production
Quality before quantity
As standard, 10–30 final photographs are created during one photography day; the exact number depends on complexity and requirements. The goal is not to create the largest possible number of images, but a series that will represent the hotel long-term on its website, Booking.com, Expedia and in everyday marketing.
One key photograph can take several hours depending on the complexity of the scene. Time is spent preparing the space, styling, precise composition, working with light, coordinating hotel operations, waiting for suitable light conditions and approving the shot with the client on site.
I therefore build hotel photography on the quality and precision of the result, not on the maximum number of images per day.
Visual style and manual retouching
I work with natural colours, realistic material rendering, precise perspective, clean geometry, light and spatial depth. The result should look premium, but realistic, without distorting the hotel’s reality.
Each final photograph goes through professional manual post-production. When needed, I combine multiple frames or exposures for colour, light, contrast, atmosphere and detail in highlights and shadows.
This includes removing distracting elements, correcting perspective and unifying the entire series.
Preparation and shooting process
Hotel preparation
Before the shoot I discuss spaces, priorities, the purpose of the photographs, shot list, operational limits, timing, natural light and, if relevant, brand guidelines. The hotel must ensure that photographed spaces are clean, prepared, accessible, visually finished and free of unnecessary distractions.
Light, weather and season
I plan the schedule according to the orientation of spaces, daylight, weather, hotel operations, occupancy and the desired atmosphere. For hotels and resorts whose character changes significantly during the year, photography can be split across several dates or seasons.
Shooting during normal operation
I can also work while the hotel remains in operation. The shoot can be planned around guests, occupancy, restaurant, wellness and other operational limits. The hotel must, however, allow short time windows when the specific space is prepared, clean and free of disruptive traffic.
If the hotel works with its own brand guidelines or visual manual, I can adapt the compositions, colour approach and character of the final series to them.
How the collaboration works
Inquiry
Send me an email and briefly describe the project.
Consultation and shot list
Together we go through the spaces, priorities, number of photographs, planned usage and operational conditions. If the hotel is not yet sure what needs to be photographed, I help define the priority scenes according to the presentation goal.
Schedule
I prepare a schedule according to light, hotel operations and the availability of individual spaces.
Photography
The hotel approves specific compositions and shots directly on site. Ideally, a marketing representative is present, knows the hotel’s priorities and can make decisions.
Post-production and delivery
I professionally process the approved photographs and deliver them as standard within 7 days. Previews are not sent after the shoot. What is approved and photographed on site goes into final processing.
